By far the best rescue in Colorado. Caring people with dedicated missions. Every single foster I’ve met cares deeply for animals, and is knowledgeable about ensuring fur babies are happy and healthy. I adopted from ARR 8 years ago – my wonderful kitty Squirrel. The foster who I adopted him from is still at the rescue, still fostering kitties (and puppies, sometimes). I joined as a foster about 6 months ago and seeing things from the inside has shown me the most caring, intelligent rescue who is actually here to save lives in any way possible.
A long time ago I rescued a puppy from another rescue (who shall not be named) and I realized not all rescues are “rescues”. Some are out there to make money, turn a profit, and some don’t have the management and admin people in place to ensure adopters have a great experience, or post-adoption support. I feel lucky I had this experience with this other rescue. It made me realize how wonderful Animal Rescue of the Rockies is – there are always people in admin ensuring emails are answered. There are always checks and balances to make sure every animal is microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and healthy. Most importantly, ARR is always putting the health of animals above money.
This is the best rescue, ever. I can’t say enough. A network of caring people who are all friends with each other and have created a support network for each other and the animals they all care for. Each new foster gets a mentor to show them the ropes and gets set up with supplies. Every animal is fully taken care of, and so is every foster.
