Low energy – A couch potato, loves to relax, great TV buddy, enjoys short neighborhood strolls. A good match if you average less than 30 minutes a day of physical activity.

Medium energy – Eager to accompany me for exercise and outings but willing to settle down and relax when needed. A good match if you average 30-60 minutes of physical activity daily such as walks to a local park or trails and social activities where you can include your dog.

High energy – An outdoor adventurer, ready to go all the time! Loves hiking, running, or any active exercise that gives them the opportunity to burn off excess energy and challenge them mentally. A good match if you average 60 or more minutes of intentional physical activity daily such as runs, daily hikes, etc.

Agreements

As a foster parent, I agree to the following foster requirements.(Required)

An Animal Rescue of the Rockies (A.R.R.) identification tag will remain on the foster pet for the entire foster period and remain on the pet when transferred to a new adoptive home.(Required)

I will contact my Foster Coordinator to arrange immediate veterinary care should the foster pet become ill or injured. A.R.R. shall be responsible for the cost of such care only at ARR’s pre-approved veterinary clinics.(Required)

If I need to return the foster pet, I will contact A.R.R. and keep the foster pet until A.R.R. locates a new foster home, understanding that this can take anywhere from several days to several weeks to arrange.(Required)

All foster pets shall be provided with a secure area, including shelter from the elements. The fostered pet will not be kept tied or chained.(Required)

Foster pets will not remain in cars unattended or unsupervised for extended periods of time, especially during cold or hot weather.(Required)

The foster pet will not be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time, except while sleeping overnight, if needed. Crating will not be used as punishment for the pet.(Required)

The foster pet will always be under my control and supervision either on leash or in the confines of my property.(Required)

The foster pet will not remain overnight in the care of anyone other than myself as the foster parent. I will notify A.R.R. if I need temporary care for my foster pet.(Required)

If behavioral issues arise that I cannot resolve, I agree to hire a professional trainer and work with the pet to solve the issues. I agree Pet shall not be euthanized for non-medical reasons.(Required)

If the foster pet requires behavioral training, the foster parent will accommodate A.R.R. in scheduling and coordinating training sessions. Foster parent will assist in positive training of foster pet for basic manners such as Sit and Stay.(Required)

I acknowledge that the foster pet remains the property of A.R.R. If I fail to return the foster pet to A.R.R. after an approved adoptive home has been found, A.R.R. will notify me by mail, return receipt requested, of the reclamation and ask that the pet be returned. The notice shall state clearly the circumstances under which A.R.R. is acting and state a date when I may meet with agents of A.R.R. to discuss the situation. After seven days from the posting of this notice, if I have not notified A.R.R., or have not accepted notice, legal action will be taken to retrieve the pet.(Required)

If the pet is in such an extreme circumstance as to endanger its health or life, A.R.R. may call animal control in my locality to recover the pet on behalf of A.R.R.(Required)

I hereby release A.R.R., its Board of Directors, and volunteers, from any claim, cause of action, or liability for any injury or damage to self, persons, or property once the pet is in my foster care.(Required)
