Adoption Information

Thank You For Considering Adoption!

You’ll save two lives – the life of the pet you adopt and the life of another pet by opening a space at a shelter!

Dog Adoption Process

Step 1

Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We’ll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.   We do everything we can to ensure a good match between the pet and your family – our goal is to find forever homes for our pets.

Step 2

If the pet looks like a great match, we’ll connect you to the foster parents to chat and potentially schedule a meet and greet.

Step 3

Once a meet and greet is scheduled, we’ll ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you’d like to proceed with adopting.

Step 4

You can adopt the dog at the meet and greet. You’ll have 24 hours after the meeting to let us know your decision, pay the adoption fee, and arrange to pick up your new furry family member.  Please note:  No adoption is final until the pet is spayed or neutered and the adoption fee has been paid.  A home visit needs to be completed and approved within 1 week of adoption.  If the home visit is not approved, ARR reserves the right to take the pet back into our care for the pet’s safety.

ADOPTION FEES – DOGS:

Puppies 6 months & younger:  $450 (includes $50 Training Deposit, refundable upon receipt of proof of completion of puppy classes within 90 days of adoption.)

Puppies 7-11 months:  $425

Purebred/Highly Requested Dogs:  $400-$600

Dogs 1 – 7 years:  $375

Dogs 8 years or older:  $100

Step 5

You must have a harness or martingale collar (if the dog is 40 lbs or more), a regular collar, and a leash to be able to bring your newly adopted dog home.
